Very expected game in Tallinn where 9th ranked Voru KK (1-18) was defeated by third ranked TTU/Kalev (13-5) 98-83. TTU/Kalev forced 26 Voru KK turnovers. Strangely Voru KK outrebounded TTU/Kalev 46-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for forward Illimar Pilk (195-88) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 6 rebounds. American-DR Congolese forward Bambale Osby (203-86, college: Maryland) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Osby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four TTU/Kalev players scored in double figures. TTU/Kalev's coach Ullar Kerde allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Curtis Allen (193-85, college: ORU) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and his fellow American import center Andrais Thornton (203-85, college: NW Missouri St.) added 24 points and 8 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) in the effort for Voru KK. TTU/Kalev maintains third position with 13-5 record having four points less than leader TU/Rock. Voru KK lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 18 lost games. TTU/Kalev will have a break next round. Voru KK will play at home against BC Rakvere (#4).
