Seventh-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (9-8) was very close to win a game against second ranked Real Madrid (14-3). Real Madrid managed to secure only one-point victory 76-75. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as Baloncesto Fuenlabrada took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Real Madrid had a 20-8 second period charge getting the lead and Baloncesto Fuenlabrada was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-76. It was a great shooting night for Real Madrid especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Naturalized Montenegrin power forward Nikola Mirotic (208-91) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and international guard Sergio Llull (190-87) chipped in 15 points. Mexican power forward Gustavo Ayon (209-85, college: San Jose St., agency: Duran International) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Argentinian-Italian forward Leonardo Mainoldi (204-85) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Real Madrid. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Regal Barca. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Gran Canaria. Real Madrid's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Madrid Asefa Estudiantes.
