Regular Season Round 16: Beijing Ducks - Liaoning H. 103-91

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Beijing Ducks (10-6) defeated at home 8th ranked Liaoning Hunters (8-7) 103-91 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Beijing Ducks. Liaoning Hunters managed to win third quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Beijing Ducks made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Liaoning Hunters turnovers. Strangely Liaoning Hunters outrebounded Beijing Ducks 45-32 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import swingman Joe Crawford (196-86, college: Kentucky, agency: Priority Sports) supported him with 27 points. Even 24 points by forward Tian-ju He (203-90) did not help to save the game for Liaoning Hunters. American guard Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) added 19 points and 5 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Beijing Ducks maintains fifth position with 10-6 record. Loser Liaoning Hunters keep the eighth place with seven games lost. Beijing Ducks will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Liaoning Hunters will play against the league's leader Xinjiang Flying Tige (#1) in Urumqi and hope to secure a win.
