Regular Season Round 13: KFI - Grindavik 64-74

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Grindavik (11-2) beat bottom-ranked KFI (2-11) in Reykjavik 74-64. The former international swingman Pall Axel Vilbergsson (197-78) stepped up and scored 16 points and 4 assists for the winners and American-Italian power forward Ryan Pettinella (206-84, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 17 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). At the losing side Serbian-Slovenian forward Marko Milicevic (204-82, agency: SportsList Inc.) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Craig Schoen (178-83, college: Georgetown, KY) scored 13 points. KFI's coach B.J. Aldridge rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Grindavik have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Snaefell lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. KFI lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Grindavik will play against Tindastoll (#7) in Sauoarkrokur in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. KFI's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Reykjavik to the arena IR.
