Regular Season Round 15: Hod Hasharon - Elitzur Ramla 80-94

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked Hod Hasharon (4-10) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Elitzur Ramla (5-10) 94-80 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Elitzur Ramla. Hod Hasharon managed to win fourth quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hod Hasharon was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Keena Young (198-85, college: BYU) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Avi Sukar (187-76) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Elitzur Ramla players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Or Ron (181-88) who recorded 28 points and 4 assists and American guard Jitim Young (188-81, college: Northwestern, agency: Edge Sports) added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Elitzur Ramla moved-up to eleventh place. Hod Hasharon lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. Elitzur Ramla will face higher ranked Lev Hasharon (#10) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hod Hasharon will play against Hapoel Beeri in Beer-Shev and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
