An interesting game took place in Changchun where higher ranked Qingdao Double Star (7-9) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked Jilin Tigers (4-12) 121-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Qingdao Double Star. The game without a history. Jilin Tigers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Qingdao Double Star's 48 and made 29-of-33 charity shots (87.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Qingdao Double Star 55-34 including a 41-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Jilin Tigers players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Qingdao Double Star's players. 24 personal fouls committed by Qingdao Double Star helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 18 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). contributed with 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) answered with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and the other American import guard Dee Brown (185-84, college: Illinois) added 18 points and 4 assists in the effort for Qingdao Double Star. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Jilin Tigers maintains fifteenth place with 4-12 record. Qingdao Double Star at the other side dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Jilin Tigers' next round opponent will be higher ranked Shandong Bulls (#12) in Jinan and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
