The most exciting game of round 17 in the CBA took place in Hangzhou. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Guandong Tigers (11-5) to sixth ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (10-6) 99-96 on Wednesday evening. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Guandong Tigers' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Zhejiang Guangsha Lions made 7 blocks. 28 personal fouls committed by Guandong Tigers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Puerto Rican center Peter John Ramos (222-85) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and center Wei Zhang (203-84) chipped in 23 points. American guard Lester Hudson (191-84, college: Tennessee-Martin) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and international swingman ShiPeng Wang (197-83) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions and four Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Beijing. Guandong Tigers at the other side keep the third position with five games lost. They share it with Jiangsu. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions is looking forward to face Fujian SBS XunXin (#16) in Jinjiang in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Guandong Tigers will play at home against Zhejiang Cyclones (#11) in Hangzhou and are hoping to win this game.
