The game in Hafnarfjordur supposed to be quite interesting. Fourth ranked KR (10-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Haukar (6-8). KR smashed Haukar 106-74. The game was mostly controlled by KR. Haukar managed to win fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game. KR forced 21 Haukar turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. KR brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American guard Marcus Walker (186-86, college: Colorado St.) notched 35 points (!!!) and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international swingman Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87) supported him with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Four KR players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 5 rebounds by American guard Semaj Inge (193-87, college: Temple) did not help to save the game for Haukar. Center Orn Siguraarson (202-90) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KR has a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Keflavik. Newly promoted Haukar keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Tindastoll. KR will play against Fjolnir (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Haukar will play against the league's second-placed Grindavik and hopes to get back on the winning track.
