There was no surprise in Dongguan where 11th ranked Zhejiang Cyclones (7-10) were defeated by fourth ranked Guandong Tigers (12-5) 104-97 on Friday. Zhejiang Cyclones trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 28-22 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 97-104 at the end of the game. Guandong Tigers made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Marcus Haislip (207-80, college: Tennessee) who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. International swingman ShiPeng Wang (197-83) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Marcus Williams (201-86, college: Arizona, agency: ZAG Advocates) who recorded 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import power forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: Connecticut) added 20 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Four Guandong Tigers and five Zhejiang Cyclones players scored in double figures. Guandong Tigers moved-up to third place. Loser Zhejiang Cyclones dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Guandong Tigers will face Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#5) in Hangzhou in the next round. Zhejiang Cyclones will play at home against Jiangsu Dragons (#4) in Nanjing.
