Regular Season Round 18: Foshan LL - Bayi R. 103-99

We should mention about the upset which took place in Foshan, where higher ranked Bayi Fubang (9-8) lost to thirteenth ranked Foshan (6-11) in a road game 99-103. The hosts were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 39-30 Bayi Fubang's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 103-99 at the end of the game. Foshan players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Bayi Fubang helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Center Zhun Zheng (214-92) notched 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Stephon Marbury (187-77, college: Georgia Tech) supported him with 19 points, 11 assists and 5 steals. Even 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by the former international center ZhiZhi Wang (214-79) did not help to save the game for Bayi Fubang. International forward Lei Wang (203-86) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Foshan and five Bayi Fubang players scored in double figures. Foshan maintains thirteenth position with 6-11 record. Bayi Fubang at the other side keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. Foshan's next round opponent will be higher ranked Shanghai Sharks (#11) at home and it may be quite challenging game.
