Sixteenth-ranked Fujian SBS XunXin (3-14) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (11-6) in Jinjiang on Friday. The visitors from Hangzhou managed to secure only one-point victory 101-100. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 30-24 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Fujian SBS XunXin's 52. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American-Puerto Rican center Peter John Ramos (222-85) had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Tre Kelley (182-85, college: S.Carolina) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American swingman Andre Emmett (196-82, college: Texas Tech) with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import center Dwayne Jones (211-83, college: St.Joseph's) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions and four Fujian SBS XunXin players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions has a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Jiangsu. Loser Fujian SBS XunXin keeps the sixteenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with TianJin R.. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will meet higher ranked Guandong Tigers (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Fujian SBS XunXin will play against Liaoning Hunters (#9) in Yingkou and hope to secure a win.
