Everything went according to plan in Malaga where ninth ranked Melilla Baloncesto (10-10) won against 12th ranked Clinicas Rincon (8-12) 86-79 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 44-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Austrian guard Jason Detrick (198-80, college: Oklahoma) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds and American center Jeff Foote (213-88, college: Cornell) who added 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Power forward Pablo Almazan (203-89) responded with 16 points and 5 assists and Bosnian center Nedzad Sinanovic (221-83) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Melilla Baloncesto moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Lleida and Navarra. Loser Clinicas Rincon keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Breogan. Melilla Baloncesto will meet at home Lobe Huesca (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Clinicas Rincon will play against the league's second-placed CB Murcia (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
