Regular Season Round 18: Lan Mobel ISB - Prat Juventud 78-79

A very interesting game took place in Azpeitia. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 9th ranked Lan Mobel ISB (6-11) to eighth ranked Prat Juventud (8-9) 79-78 on Friday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-18. But Lan Mobel ISB won second period 17-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Lan Mobel ISB outrebounded Prat Juventud 40-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. Guard Ferran Bassas (185-92) notched 11 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and forward Albert Ventura (196-92) supported him with 17 points. Even 23 points and 8 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) by American forward Anthony Paez (198-84, college: Stephen F. Austin, agency: JEMsports) did not help to save the game for Lan Mobel ISB. American-Italian power forward Cristopher Mortellaro (206-82, college: Drury) added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Prat Juventud moved-up to seventh place. Newly promoted Lan Mobel ISB dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Prat Juventud's next round opponent will be Leyma Basquet (#12) in Coruna where they are favorite. Lan Mobel ISB will play on the road against CB Illescas.
