Regular Season Round 18: Spojnia - Tychy 78-65

There was no surprise in Stargard where 12th ranked GKS Tychy (4-11) was defeated by ninth ranked Spojnia (9-9) 78-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Spojnia. GKS Tychy managed to win third quarter 14-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded GKS Tychy 42-28 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Marcin Stoklosa (188-77) who scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Jerzy Koszuta (191-82) chipped in 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Spojnia players scored in double figures. Spojnia's coach Tadeusz Aleksandrowicz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Dawid Witos (190-83, agency: Promotex) who recorded 22 points and 4 assists and guard Jacek Jarecki (197-88) added 20 points respectively. Spojnia moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Znicz Basket. Loser GKS Tychy dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Spojnia will have a break next round. GKS Tychy will play at home against Polonia 2011 (#16) in Warszawa.
