Important game to mention about took place in Contern. Eighth ranked Contern (7-10) saved a 1-point victory at home edging higher ranked Amicale (10-6) 70-69 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Amicale. It looked good early as Amicale took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Contern had a 17-11 second period charge getting the lead and Amicale was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-70. Contern made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American forward Brandon Gary (202-83, college: Hutchinson CC) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international guard Sven Pezzotta (186-88) supported him with 9 points. Even 19 points and 6 rebounds by guard Christopher Jones (186-90) did not help to save the game for Amicale. American forward Louis Birdsong (198-88, college: George Mason, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) added 12 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Four Amicale players scored in double figures. Contern moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Residence. Amicale at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Contern will play against league's leader T71 in Dudelange in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Amicale will play on the road against Musel Pikes in Stadrbredimus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
