Leader Aishin Sea Horses delivered the eighteenth win on Saturday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (9-14) 78-63 in Kariya. The game without a history. Aishin Sea Horses led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Aishin Sea Horses outrebounded Hitachi Sunrockers 42-25 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international center J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. The former international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (205-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. American power forward Tyler Smith (203-80, college: Penn St.) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Joji Takeuchi (206-85) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aishin Sea Horses (18-5) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side keep the fifth position with 14 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses are again looking forward to face Hitachi Sunrockers (#5) in Osaka in the next round. Hitachi Sunrockers will have a break next round.
