Very expected game in Warszawa where 15th ranked Polonia 2011 (4-14) was edged by fifth ranked MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza (12-6) 75-73 on Saturday. Polonia 2011 was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza forced 19 Polonia 2011 turnovers and outrebounded them 35-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. Polonia 2011 was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Mariusz Piotrkowski (197-84) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Pawel Zmarlak (195-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Four MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Michal Jankowski (192-87) who recorded 29 points and power forward Wojciech Glabas (207-90) added 11 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. Polonia 2011's coach Arkadius Miloszewski let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza maintains fifth position with 12-6 record. Loser Polonia 2011 dropped to the bottom place with 14 games lost. MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza will face LKS Sphinx (#7) in Lodz in the next round. Polonia 2011 will play on the road against GKS Tychy (#13) and be promoted back to the PLK just one year after relegation.
