Regular Season Round 11: AGOR - KAOD 82-83

The most exciting game of round 11 in the A2 took place in Rethymno. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-ranked AGOR (8-4) to first ranked KAOD (10-1) 83-82 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of AGOR. AGOR was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 26-20 charge of KAOD, which allowed them to win the game. 31 personal fouls committed by AGOR helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Power forward Vageli Margaritis (202-82) saved the victory by scoring 23 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Vassili Kitsoulis (204-83) contributed with 29 points for the winners. Guard Giannis Kiriakopoulos (185-83) answered with 19 points and Serbian center Damir Latovic (204-80) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for AGOR. Five AGOR players scored in double figures. KAOD have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. AGOR at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. KAOD are looking forward to face Arkadikos (#3) in Arkadia in the next round, which may be the game of the day. AGOR will play at home against Ermis Lagkada in Lagadas and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
