Important game to mention about took place in Poznan. Ninth ranked Super-Pol (8-10) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 10th ranked Inea AZS (4-14) 73-72 on Saturday evening. The guests were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 17-15 run, which allowed them to win the game. Super-Pol forced 19 Inea AZS turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Joy Cheek (185-88, college: Duke) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Mercedes Fox-Griffin (170-87, college: Oregon St.) helped adding 22 points and 4 steals. At the losing side forward Agnieszka Makowska (182-82) responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Joanna Kedzia (193-87) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Inea AZS players scored in double figures. Super-Pol moved-up to eighth place. Inea AZS lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Super-Pol will play against higher ranked AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (#3) in Gorzow Wlkp. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Inea AZS will have a break next round.
