No shocking result in a game when second ranked CCC Polkowice (15-2) crushed at home 8th ranked Widzew (7-10) 72-47 on Saturday. CCC Polkowice made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Amisha Carter (188-82, college: Louisiana Tech) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Kalana Greene (178-87, college: Connecticut) accounted for 19 points (made all of her eight free throws) for the winning side. Coach Krzysztof Koziorowicz's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Aleksandra Pawlak (189-84) came up with 12 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Anna Tondel (183-77) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Widzew in the defeat. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for CCC Polkowice. They maintain second place with 15-2 record behind leader Wisla Can-Pak. Newly promoted Widzew dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. CCC Polkowice will meet Artego (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Widzew will play against Lider Pruszkow and hope to secure a win.
