Regular Season Round 12: Panathinaikos - FEA Neas 52-60

Another exciting game was played in Athens between eighth ranked FEA Neas and higher ranked Panathinaikos where FEA Neas (6-6) won against Panathinaikos (7-5) on the road 60-52. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Panathinaikos won third quarter 11-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panathinaikos was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Randee Henry (186-82, college: UNLV) who led her team to a victory with 15 points and 6 rebounds. The former international power forward Nena Nikolaidou (190-79) contributed with 7 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Guard Maria Chalivelaki (172-79) replied with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Maria Zikiridou (187-83) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Panathinaikos. FEA Neas maintains eighth position with 6-6 record. Panathinaikos at the other side dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Apollon and Aris. FEA Neas will play against higher ranked Aris (#5) in Thessaloniki in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Panathinaikos will play on the road against Apollon in Ptolemaida and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
