Regular Season Round 16: Enel Brindisi - Acea Virtus RM 80-84
Date: January 23, 2011
Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Enel Brindisi (5-11) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked Lottomatica Roma (7-9) 84-80 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a great shooting night for Lottomatica Roma especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Charles Smith (193-75, college: N.Mexico) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and Montenegrin forward Vladimir Dasic (207-88, agency: Beo Basket) who added 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Anthony Roberson (188-83, college: Florida) responded with 23 points and his fellow American import power forward Kristoffer Lang (211-79, college: N.Carolina, agency: SportsTalent) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Five Lottomatica Roma and four Enel Brindisi players scored in double figures. Lottomatica Roma moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Cimberio VA and Angelico BI. Newly promoted Enel Brindisi keeps the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Lottomatica Roma will face higher ranked Scavolini Pesaro (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Enel Brindisi will play against CS Bologna (#5).
