No shocking result in a game when third ranked Guandong Tigers (13-5) crushed 5th ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (11-7) in Dongguan 116-97 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Guandong Tigers. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions managed to win second period 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guandong Tigers forced 22 Zhejiang Guangsha Lions turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Guandong Tigers made 7 blocks. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American guard Lester Hudson (191-84, college: Tennessee-Martin) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. International forward FangYu Zhu (201-83) contributed with 29 points for the winners. American guard Tre Kelley (182-85, college: S.Carolina) answered with 26 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and Taiwanese swingman Chih-Chieh Lin (192-82) added 16 points and 8 assists in the effort for Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Four Guandong Tigers and five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Guandong Tigers maintains third place with 13-5 record having three points less than leader Xinjiang. Loser Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Guandong Tigers will face Liaoning Hunters (#8) in Yingkou in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play at home against Jiangsu Dragons (#4) in Nanjing and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
