An interesting game took place in Alicante where higher ranked Caja Laboral (11-7) was upset on the court of sixteenth ranked Meridiano Alicante (6-12) 88-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Meridiano Alicante. Caja Laboral managed to win third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Justin Doellman (206-85, college: Xavier) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Kenny Hasbrouck (191-86, college: Siena) chipped in 19 points during the contest. They share it with Valencia and Bizkaia Bilbao. Meridiano Alicante is looking forward to face higher ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#8) in Madrid in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
