Eighth-ranked Tuscany Pistoia (8-9) gave a tough game to third ranked Fastweb CM (13-4) on Sunday. The visitors from Casale managed to secure only one-point victory 70-69. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 19-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Swedish-Nigerian power forward Oluoma Nnamaka (200-78, college: Marquette) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and American guard Ricky Hickman (190-85, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Court Side) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Jarvis Varnado (206-88, college: Mississippi St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks and the other American import guard Joseph Forte (193-81, college: N.Carolina, agency: JEMsports) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Tuscany Pistoia players scored in double figures. Fastweb CM have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Snaidero UD. Tuscany Pistoia lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Aget Imola. Fastweb CM is looking forward to face Fileni BPA (#12) in Jesi in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tuscany Pistoia will play on the road against Sigma Barcellona (#5) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
