Regular Season Round 15: 36ers - Wildcats 77-76

The most exciting game of round 15 in the NBL took place in Findon. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-best Perth Wildcats (12-6) to seventh ranked Adelaide 36ers (7-10) 77-76 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Perth Wildcats. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 21-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Adelaide 36ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for the former international forward Adam Ballinger (205-79, college: Michigan St.) who saved his team from a defeat with 26 points and 7 rebounds. American swingman Ron Howard (196-82, college: Valparaiso) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Adelaide 36ers players scored in double figures. International swingman Stephen Weigh (198-87) answered with 17 points and 9 rebounds and forward Cameron Tovey (200-85, college: Augusta St.) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Perth Wildcats. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Adelaide 36ers moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Blaze. Defending champion Perth Wildcats keep the second position with six games lost. Adelaide 36ers is again looking forward to face league's second-placed Perth Wildcats on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Perth Wildcats will have a break next round.
