Another upset was a game between Qingdao Double Star (8-10) and Jilin Tigers (6-12), which took place in Qingdao. Higher ranked Qingdao Double Star lost at home to fifteenth ranked Jilin Tigers 81-92 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Jilin Tigers. Qingdao Double Star managed to win third quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Qingdao Double Star was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Tim Pickett (193-81, college: Florida St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) answered with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 22 rebounds and forward Kai Chen (205-88) added 13 points in the effort for Qingdao Double Star. Qingdao Double Star's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jilin Tigers has a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Foshan. Loser Qingdao Double Star keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Jilin Tigers will face Fujian SBS XunXin (#16) in Jinjiang in the next round.
