An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Santo Andre. Second ranked Santo Andre faced 3rd placed Acucar. Host Santo Andre (12-2) defeated guests from Caranduva (11-3) 74-61. The game was mostly controlled by Santo Andre. Acucar was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Santo Andre forced 24 Acucar turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Micaela Jacintho (180-79) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Ariadna Felipe (179-83) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Clarissa Santos (182-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds and the former international guard Palmira Marcal (178-84) added 8 points in the effort for Acucar. Santo Andre have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain second place with 12-2 record behind leader Americana. Acucar at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Santo Andre will play against bottom-ranked Sao Caetano (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Acucar will play against Basquete Clube (#7) in Aracatuba and hopes to get back on the winning track.
