Top ranked Atenas (8-4) recorded its fourth loss in Buenos Aires on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Obras (8-4) 77-62. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Obras. Atenas managed to win third quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for international power forward Juan Gutierrez (205-83) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Luis Cequeira (180-85) helped adding 7 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward James Williams (204-79, college: Brown Mackie, agency: Dream Team Management) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Bruno Labaque (183-77, agency: Interperformances) scored 15 points. Atenas' coach Sebastian Gonzalez tested eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Obras moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Atenas. Obras will again meet at home Atenas (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Atenas will have a break next round.
