Regular Season Round 20: Xinjiang FT - Shandong FB 109-120

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Xinjiang Flying Tige (17-1) in Urumqi on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by tenth ranked Shandong Bulls (9-10) 120-109. It ended at the same time the 17-game winning streak of Xinjiang Flying Tige. The game was mostly controlled by Shandong Bulls. Xinjiang Flying Tige managed to win third quarter 26-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shandong Bulls shot 60.6 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 63.6 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Rodney White (206-80, college: Charlotte) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Myron Allen (180-79, college: Lee JC) who added 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. American guard Quincy Douby (191-84, college: Rutgers) responded with 37 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international center Bateer Mengke (210-75) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shandong Bulls moved-up to eighth place. Xinjiang Flying Tige at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Shandong Bulls will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play on the road against the league's second-placed DongGuan Leopards and will have a slim chance for a victory.
