Very important is a home loss of second ranked Grindavik (12-3) against sixth ranked Haukar (7-8) on Thursday night. Host Grindavik was crushed by Haukar in Grindavik 82-63. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Grindavik. The game without a history. Haukar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Grindavik 58-45 including a 23-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Dutch-American forward Gerald Robinson (204-84, college: Tennessee-Martin, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 23 rebounds. American guard Semaj Inge (193-87, college: Temple) contributed with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals for the winners. Four Haukar players scored in double figures. American-Italian power forward Ryan Pettinella (206-84, college: Cincinnati) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds and the former international swingman Pall Axel Vilbergsson (197-78) added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Grindavik. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Haukar moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tindastoll and Stjarnan. Grindavik at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Snaefell. Haukar will play against Fjolnir (#8) at home in the next round. Grindavik will play against IR (#9) in Reykjavik and hopes to get back on the winning track.
