Very expected game when 9th ranked Elitzur Rishon Le-Zion (3-13) was defeated on the road by third ranked Maccabi Ashdod (11-5) 88-83. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were already 17 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 24-12 Elitzur Rishon Le-Zion's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 88-83 at the end of the game. Maccabi Ashdod dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Elitzur Rishon Le-Zion's 42. Maccabi Ashdod players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The winners were led by swingman Tamara James (178-84, college: Miami (FL), agency: 540 Sports) who scored that evening 25 points (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) and forward Ambrosia Anderson (186-84, college: BYU) supported her with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Electra Ramat and Ramat Hen. Elitzur Rishon Le-Zion lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Elitzur Holon. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#5) at home in the next round. Elitzur Rishon Le-Zion will play against Elitzur Netanya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
