Second Stage Round 11: Obras - Quimsa 75-74

Date: January 28, 2011
A very interesting game took place in Buenos Aires. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Quimsa (6-5) to fourth ranked Obras (8-4) 75-74 on Friday evening. Quimsa was ahead by 8 points after three quarters before a 23-14 charge of Obras, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for American forward William McFarlan (201-76, college: St.Thomas Aquinas, agency: Dream Team Management) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Joshua Pittman (197-76, college: NC-Asheville, agency: Dream Team Management) accounted for 22 points for the winning side. The former international forward Diego Lo Grippo (198-78) came up with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) added 17 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Quimsa in the defeat. Four Quimsa players scored in double figures. Obras moved-up to second place, which they share with Atenas. Quimsa at the other side keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Obras' next round opponent will be Atenas (#3) in Cordoba, which may be the game of the day. Quimsa will play on the road against Gimnasia CR (#7) in Comodoro R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
