Regular Season Round 15: Keflavik - Hamar 94-77

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Hamar (5-10) was defeated on the road by third ranked Keflavik (11-4) 94-77. The game was mostly controlled by Keflavik. Hamar was better in third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Thomas Sanders (191-85, college: Gardner-Webb, agency: Duran International) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard Axel Vilhjalmsson (188-88) accounted for 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Keflavik players scored in double figures. The former international center Ragnar Nathanaelsson (218-91) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks and American guard Marcus Walker (186-86, college: Colorado St.) added 24 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Hamar in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Keflavik have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 11-4 record behind leader Snaefell, which they share with KR. Hamar lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Keflavik's next round opponent will be KR (#4) in Reykjavik. Hamar will play at home against Njardvik (#11) in Njardvik.
