Everything could happen in Hangzhou at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Zhejiang Cyclones and 11th ranked Shanghai Sharks had identical 8-11 record. This time Zhejiang Cyclones used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Shanghai 116-103 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Zhejiang Cyclones. Shanghai Sharks was better in third quarter 30-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zhejiang Cyclones shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. Shanghai Sharks were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Marcus Williams (201-86, college: Arizona, agency: ZAG Advocates) who scored 53 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists. International center Jinhui Ding (204-90) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the other American import guard John Lucas (180-82, college: Oklahoma St.) added 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four Zhejiang Cyclones and five Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks' coach gave the chance to play for eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Zhejiang Cyclones (9-11) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Liaoning. Loser Shanghai Sharks keep the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Zhejiang Cyclones will face Shanxi Zhongyu (#15) in Taiyuan in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Shanghai Sharks will play on the road against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#7) in Hangzhou.
