We should mention about the upset which took place in Nanjing, where 4th placed Jiangsu Dragons (12-8) lost at home to tenth ranked Liaoning Hunters (9-11) 98-106 on Friday. Jiangsu Dragons trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 38-31 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 98-106 at the end of the game. Liaoning Hunters dominated on the defensive end, holding Jiangsu Dragons to just 6 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Jiangsu Dragons 48-30 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Jiangsu Dragons were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Tian-ju He (203-90) who scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Shunan Liu (198-90) chipped in 17 points. Liaoning Hunters' coach Shiqiang Guo used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Antoine Wright (201-84, college: Texas A&M) who recorded 21 points and 6 assists and the former international center ZhengDong Tang (213-84) added 26 points respectively. Four Liaoning Hunters and five Jiangsu Dragons players scored in double figures. Liaoning Hunters moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Zhejiang C. Loser Jiangsu Dragons keep the fourth position with eight games lost. Liaoning Hunters will face higher ranked Bayi Fubang (#6) in Ningbo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jiangsu Dragons will play at home against Jilin Tigers in Changchun.
