The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Lanus as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Lanus defeated bottom-ranked Sionista in Buenos Aires 85-72. Panamanian power forward Jamaal Levy (206-83, college: Wake Forest, agency: Priority Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international forward Diego Prego (198-77) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Forward Alejandro Zilli (200-82) answered with 21 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard Pedro Franco (187-81) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for Sionista. Four Sionista players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Sionista at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Sionista will play next round against Boca Juniors trying to get back on the winning streak. Lanus will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Libertad Sunchales at home.
