Regular Season Round 21: Qingdao E. - Xinjiang FT 82-96

Leader Xinjiang Flying Tige delivered the eighteenth victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Qingdao Double Star (8-12) 96-82. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. Qingdao Double Star was better in third quarter 29-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American guard Quincy Douby (191-84, college: Rutgers) who led his team to a victory with 22 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. His fellow American import forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) contributed with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Liang Cai (203-92) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Qingdao Double Star. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Qingdao Double Star's coach tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige maintains first place with 18-1 record. Qingdao Double Star lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Foshan and Shanghai. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play against Fujian SBS XunXin (#16) in Jinjiang in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Qingdao Double Star will play at home against Shandong Bulls (#8) in Jinan and hopes to get back on the winning track.
