There was no surprise in Uusikaupunki where 7th ranked Torpan Pojat (14-16) was crushed by fourth ranked UU-Korihait (19-11) 98-75 on Saturday. UU-Korihait dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Torpan Pojat's 36. UU-Korihait forced 20 Torpan Pojat turnovers and outrebounded them 38-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was swingman Nigel Moore (195-81, college: Alabama A&M) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Forward James Reaves (203-82, college: Niagara) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Frank Richards (188-82, college: Kansas St.) who recorded 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward LaVell Blanchard (201-81, college: Michigan, agency: Beo Basket) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Five UU-Korihait and four Torpan Pojat players scored in double figures. Torpan Pojat's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. UU-Korihait maintains fourth position with 19-11 record. Loser Torpan Pojat keeps the seventh place with 16 games lost. UU-Korihait will have a break next round. Torpan Pojat will play at home against Porvoon Tarmo (#12).
