Important game to mention about took place in Perth. Sixth ranked Adelaide 36ers (8-10) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging much higher ranked Perth Wildcats (12-7) 66-65 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-14. But Perth Wildcats won second period 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Adelaide 36ers won last quarter 15-15. They also forced 21 Perth Wildcats turnovers. Strangely Perth Wildcats outrebounded Adelaide 36ers 46-30 including a 25-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international forward Jacob Holmes (201-83) who scored that evening 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Adam Ballinger (205-79, college: Michigan St.) supported him with 9 points and 7 rebounds. Even 19 points and 7 rebounds by international swingman Stephen Weigh (198-87) did not help to save the game for Perth Wildcats. American power forward Andre Brown (205-81, college: De Paul, agency: Priority Sports) added 14 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Adelaide 36ers maintains sixth position with 8-10 record. Defending champion Perth Wildcats keep the second place with seven games lost. Adelaide 36ers will play against bottom-ranked Kings (#9) in Sydney in the next round. Perth Wildcats will play on the road against Cairns Taipans (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
