Regular Season Round 16: Ura Basket - Lapua 76-81

Very predictable result when third ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (11-5) won against 11th ranked Ura Basket (6-10) in Kaarina 81-76 on Saturday. Ura Basket trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 21-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-81 at the end of the game. The winners were led by American forward Derick Nelson (196-86, college: Oakland, agency: ACMT) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard Benny Valentine (170-87, college: E.Washington) supported him with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists by American swingman Zach Ramey (191-81, college: Benedictine) did not help to save the game for Ura Basket. Forward Sakari Salminen (200-87) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Four Ura Basket players scored in double figures. Lapuan Korikobrat maintains third position with 11-5 record having just two points less than leader FoKoPo. Ura Basket lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Kerava ET and TomPo II. Lapuan Korikobrat will meet at home league's second-placed BC Jyvaskyla in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ura Basket will play against the league's leader Forssan Koripojat (#1) and hope to secure a win.
