Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Okinawa GK (16-11) won against on the road 6th ranked Akita Happinets (9-18) 71-66 on Saturday. Akita Happinets were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 17-11 charge of Okinawa GK, which allowed them to win the game. Quite impressive performance for American swingman Carlos Dixon (202-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Strategic Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import center Jeff Newton (205-81, college: Indiana) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. American guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska, agency: Impact Basketball) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and Nigerian forward Ayodokun Akingbade (207-84, college: George Washington) added 8 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Akita Happinets. Akita Happinets' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Okinawa GK maintains fourth position with 16-11 record. Loser Akita Happinets keep the sixth place with 18 games lost. Okinawa GK will have a break next round.
