Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Saitama Broncos (11-16) lost on the road to third ranked Shiga Lakestars (17-10) 86-72 on Saturday. Shiga Lakestars dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Saitama Broncos' 48. American players dominated also this game. Quite impressive performance for power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami (FL)) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 20 rebounds. Forward Lamar Rice (203-82, college: Georgetown, KY) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Shiga Lakestars players scored in double figures. Center George Leach (210-81, college: Indiana) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 18 rebounds and guard Kenny Satterfield (188-81, college: Cincinnati) added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Saitama Broncos. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shiga Lakestars moved-up to second place. Loser Saitama Broncos keep the fifth position with 16 games lost. Shiga Lakestars will face again Saitama Broncos (#5) at home in the next round.
