Sixth-ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (9-17) gave a tough game to first ranked Aishin Sea Horses (20-6) in Nagoya on Saturday. The visitors from Kariya managed to secure only three-point victory 87-84. However their fans expected much easier game. Mitsubishi Dolphins were trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 18-13 charge of Aishin Sea Horses, which allowed them to win the game. The former international center J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (205-85) chipped in 22 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. American forward Ron Hale (203-77, college: Florida St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) scored 21 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mitsubishi Dolphins' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aishin Sea Horses maintains first position with 20-6 record. Mitsubishi Dolphins at the other side keep the sixth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Tochigi Brex. Aishin Sea Horses are looking forward to face league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Fuchu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play on the road against Hitachi Sunrockers (#5) in Osaka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
