Sixteenth-ranked Meridiano Alicante (6-13) made lots of trouble for eighth ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (11-8) in Madrid on Saturday. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada managed to secure only one-point victory 74-73. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Meridiano Alicante. Meridiano Alicante was trailing by 12 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 19-17 charge of Baloncesto Fuenlabrada, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Baloncesto Fuenlabrada made 7 blocks. Latvian guard Kristaps Valters (190-81) fired 13 points and 9 assists for the winners. Mexican power forward Gustavo Ayon (209-85, college: San Jose St., agency: Duran International) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field).
