Regular Season Round 12: Apollon Patras - Panerythraikos 61-53

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Apollon Patras and 11th ranked Panerythraikos had identical 4-7 record. This time Apollon Patras used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from New Eritrea 61-53. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-14. But Panerythraikos won second period 16-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Serbian forward Djordje Pantelic (204-84) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Guard Giannis Lianos (194-88) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Cypriot guard Andreas Sizopoulos (189-83) replied with 11 points and 5 rebounds and forward Tasos Kallianotis (193-83) added 11 points in the effort for Panerythraikos. Panerythraikos' coach Dimitris Houhoulis let to play twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Apollon Patras (5-7) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Ermis Lagkada and AEK/Argous. Panerythraikos at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. Apollon Patras' next round opponent will be AEK/Argous (#10) on the road. Panerythraikos will play against the league's leader KAOD where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
