Regular Season Round 15: Kolossos - Marousi 78-61

The game between third ranked Marousi (9-6) and sixth ranked VAP Kolossos (8-7) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Marousi was defeated by VAP Kolossos in Rodou 61-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Marousi. Marousi was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 26-7 charge of VAP Kolossos, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Marousi to just 7 points in fourth quarter. VAP Kolossos dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Marousi's 26. It was a good game for power forward Kostas Charissis (211-79, college: USC, agency: Impact Basketball) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized American swingman Pat Kalathis (208-85, college: St.Joseph's) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Puerto Rican guard David Huertas (196-87, college: Mississippi) answered with 24 points and 4 assists and the former international power forward Dimitris Haritopoulos (207-83, agency: FCM) added 14 points in the effort for Marousi. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. VAP Kolossos moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Marousi at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. VAP Kolossos is looking forward to face Kavala (#7) at home in the next round. Marousi will play against Ikaros (#10) in Kalitheas and is hoping to win this game.
