Regular Season Round 33: Inter Bratislava - Nova Ves 73-76

Tenth-ranked Inter Bratislava (9-18) made lots of trouble for second ranked Nova Ves (19-8) on Saturday. The visitors from Nova Ves managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 43-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Inter Bratislava outrebounded Nova Ves 44-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Corey Jefferson (183-85, college: Texas St.-San Marcos) who scored 11 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. International forward Stanislav Baldovsky (192-89) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Jefferson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Nova Ves players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Ukrainian power forward Andrej Lukjanec (203-69) who recorded 26 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian guard Nenad Milosevic (190-83) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. Nova Ves maintains second place with 19-8 record behind leader Nitra. Inter Bratislava at the other side stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Nova Ves are looking forward to face Vahostav-Zilina (#6) at home in the next round. Inter Bratislava will play against Levice (#5) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
