Regular Season Round 12: Ikaroi Serron - Lavrio 101-88

The most important game in the last round took place in Serres between second ranked Lavrio (8-4) and fifth ranked Ikaroi Serron (8-4) on Saturday night. Lavrio was defeated by Ikaroi Serron on the road 101-88. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Lavrio. The game was mostly controlled by Ikaroi Serron. Lavrio managed to win fourth quarter 35-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Ikaroi Serron especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of center Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and guard Savvas Kaberidis (187-78) who added 18 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Nikos Psileas (200-80) with 31 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Sa Giannakopoulos (195-82) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Lavrio's coach Christos Serellis rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Ikaroi Serron have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Lavrio. Ikaroi Serron is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Near East (#16) in Kesariani in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lavrio will play at home against Pagrati (#12) in Athens and is hoping to win this game.
