Regular Season Round 22: Wisla Can-Pak - Inea AZS 84-70

PLKK top team - Wisla Can-Pak (18-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat tenth ranked Inea AZS (5-15) in Krakow 84-70. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 48-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Wisla Can-Pak dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Inea AZS's 32. They outrebounded Inea AZS 41-30 including 27 on the defensive glass. American swingman Nicole Powell (188-82, college: Stanford) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Belarusian center Yelena Leuchanka (196-83, college: W.Virginia) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international forward Elzbieta Mowlik (180-83, agency: Data Plus Group) responded with 20 points and forward Agnieszka Makowska (182-82) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Inea AZS players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wisla Can-Pak have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-1 record. Inea AZS lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 15 games lost. Wisla Can-Pak are looking forward to face Lotos Gdynia (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Inea AZS will play against LKS Siemens (#13) in Lodz and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
